I was born and bred in Devon, so my passion for nature and the place that I live comes from that connection.

Dartmoor Inspiration

I am fortunate to be living next to the Templar Way - a granite tramway that runs from Haytor on Dartmoor to Teigngrace. This is where I walk and destress.

Collecting plants and feathers from my walks has been my inspiration for lots of my work.

Bringing the outside inside gives me great pleasure.

Seashore

My other love is for the seashore as I was brought up in the South Hams spending holidays and breaks in my Happy Place on the beach. Seaweed and feathers have also been collected from local beaches to add to my stash of glorious objects to sun print.

Cyanotype

Sun Printing is an old technique called Cyanotype it is a form of primitive photography pioneered by Botanist Anna Atkins in the 1840’s she collected seaweed and recorded and labelled them all to make several Books that are still available to see in Museums around the world.

Lampshades

My current work is to create beautiful and useful Sun Printed Lampshades and other household objects. Handmade Cyanotype Lamp shades can be commissioned. Please get in touch to ask about size, colour and sun printed designs of shades for table or hanging lamps.

You can book an appointment to visit Bridget in her Studio to commission a bespoke hand made sun printed lamp shade, or to book onto a Cyanotype workshop, small numbers only.
